And I can play on the switch, so finally a reason to use my switch! Woohoo!

Game is pretty hard though. I hate dying at the same spot over and over and watching my bags of money just flying out of my body

I love the bosses designs

Yes I love Shovel Knight. The gameplay, bosses, music, etc. are all wonderful. I think I died at least once on every main stage, with the flying ship and final levels having my most deaths. The sub weapons help a lot.

Most of my deaths have been either at bosses or falling off things. I haven't quite gotten his jumping length down yet. And the no running+jumping thing is a learning curve for me.

The second or third level where there was lightning and I couldn't see shit I died on like fifteen times because of misplaced jumps.

Propeller Knight stage still give me nightmares

Sooooo many falling/spike deaths

I got to the Tower of Fate but never did finish

Unfortunately the last time I played it I was going through a bit of a rough patch in my life and kept dying at this one spot in the game so I kind of stopped playing it and haven't wanted to go back to it :-|

I enjoyed it, but to me it was just a solid pastiche of several classic games. It's very well executed, but I don't know, it felt like there was something missing. It's hard to describe it, I guess I was just hoping for something a little more unique.

It's a nostalgia game.

Know what it is missing? Running and jumping

It is probably one of the best games in the last 5 years or so.

Nah, I don't think it was missing running, since that wouldn't fit with the Mega Man/Zelda II/Castlevania vibe, unless you're saying that could have been the extra ingredient to give it some variation from those.
