If Apple follows its usual schedule, the iPhone 8 -- or whatever the next iPhone is called -- will launch In the next 90 days. That's if the company sticks with tradition and unveils its next super-phone the first or second week of September, as it's done since the debut of the iPhone 5 in 2012.
But, this year, a chorus of supply-chain sources and analysts have raised questions about the company's ability to deliver on the usual schedule.
Apple is rumored to be working on a dramatic redesign for the 10th anniversary edition of the iPhone. Everything we're hearing -- and this is all unofficial, of course -- points to a new design, new display and some new -- and possibly show-stopping -- features.
The clues coming out of Apple's preview of iOS 11 at WWDC plus a steady stream of rumors are painting an increasingly vivid picture of what we might see with the iPhone 8. In addition to updated hardware like an edge-to-edge OLED display, virtual home button and wireless charging, it looks like the company will use the next generation of its phone and mobile operating system to bring augmented reality (also known as AR) further in to the mainstream. This likely means we'll soon be deluged by apps with digital images and animations -- yes, like Pokemon and Ikea's newly announced app -- superimposed over what we see in the real world through a camera.
But when? The voices that were expressing doubt about the September time frame back in the spring have grown noticeably quiet over the past few weeks, as more detailed design drawings and iPhone 8-ready case protectors have popped up online. And the optimistic rumors from a few weeks back -- that Apple and its suppliers had resolved any outstanding production issues -- have been followed by websites recently claiming visits from iPhone 8 devices.
Regardless of the exact timing, all signs point to a splashy debut coming later this year. As we approach the introduction of the iPhone 8, we'll continue to assemble the most significant rumors below.

I'm just done with android phones. I want simple and iPhones are simple.
I have an iPhone 6 and it's still fine. I might get like a 7 Plus though since it'll be cheaper. I don't need to be on the cutting edge of phones. I save that for my computers. ---
no i'm going to get a note 8. If anything else maybe i'll look into the next google phone. I'll never get another Iphone. iPhone 5 was one of my worst phones ever.
