Or if its a chain and they say "Well, they let me do this at your other locations"...then go to the other location. let them risk their jobs for you, not us. If anything it was probably just a one time thing, and a manager caved...now they expect special treatment every time...

This is a valid tactic and one I use on vendors that give me shit. Lets get your manager on the phone and calculate how much money we could be spending elsewhere shall we? They usually oblige to whatever I'm wanting.

What do they have degrees in?

Where are you a manager?

One has an art degree, he's unfortunately a bus boy at a restaurant.
One has a degree in CAD (I believe), he actually does have a job in the field, but I make like two dollars more than he does.
One has a degree in film, he's unfortunately working at Party City
The last one, I actually don't know his degree but it has to do with game design, and he unfortunately works for the DPS


A grocery store, not a manager yet but a year or so away from becoming one.

I worked at a gas station for 4 years when I was out of high school and I have a lot of war stories. Also, here in Oregon people pump your gas for you, it's law. Try telling that to people visiting Oregon. War stories I tell you, lol

I had one guy give me the "the customer is always right" card after his card got declined. He insisted that, somehow, I just wasn't letting it go through (because I gain sooooo much out of not letting customers' cards process). I told him, no, your card has just flat out been declined and he told me "Well the customer is always right!"

I get this one a lot. Had someone banging on the drive-thru window at 10:30 this morning wanting BBQ... I just told them we didn't open until 11:00, and they were like, "BUT I ALWAYS COME IN ON SATURDAYS AT 10:30!"

The most annoying question was working on weekends and hearing "what time does your pharmacy close?"

Me: "5pm on weekends"
Customer: "when did they start that?
Me: "the pharmacy has always closed early on weekends"
Customer: "why didn't anyone tell me this? Why is the rest of the store still open?!"

Every. Damn. Weekend night there'd be several people complaining that the pharmacy was closed.

Lmao my worst experience was someone demanding I unlock the pharmacy to get their prescription. I was the shift supervisor so of course all the cashiers directed the angry customers my way. They couldn't comprehend the fact that I didn't have keys to the pharmacy. They threatened legal action as well. She also threatened to break down the gate herself to get her prescription. I had to call a different CVS that had a 24 hour pharmacy and sent the customer there.
