Its all relative. Some people die young, some people live a long time, everyone's life is short when compared to the total history of the world, let alone the universe.

On a related note, wouldn't it be convenient, if not somewhat grim, to know when you'd die?

Like, I feel like it would be easier to live your life to the fullest if you knew how much time you had.

Nah, I could die right now and I'd be happy. In fact, I hope I die without having to spend a lot of time disabled beforehand, but I suspect that's not going to be the case.

It sounds like a creaky cliché that your parents and grandparents never get tired of telling you, until the realization dawns after a little life experience that it's actually true. Can't say you weren't warned.

My philosophy disagrees with the notion when our years are sufficient to live through the stages of living around an hundred years old. We frolic, we study, we practice a trade, we (if fortune allows it sometimes) espouse a wife, and bring our goal to pass. Aging doesn't indicate the closure, if you tend to the body to be fit (as in avoid bad choices to the heart-mind and body) you will not be shy of your alloted time. Insects are merely weeks, animals years, yet we outlast most immensely to do more than survive.

But then there could be a whole new set of problems. Taking care of elderly parents and your own health problems are a couple. Try to enjoy each phase but be prepared for the problems they bring.

Parents passed long ago. Health? I'm healthier at 70 than I was at 30, and a much better athlete.
