Other than changing difficulties, do you restrict yourself from using some OP item or character to make the game more challenging and making you out to be more pro?

For example some people don't use Orlandu in FFT because he makes the game too easy.

Don't like it? Don't watch it. It's that simple

After having beaten the game once or twice with no restrictions, sure.

Beat OoT Master Quest on 3DS with 3 hearts, no shield.

Sometimes it just feels cheap if you don't handicap yourself, like in FF8.

Sure. But my reasoning is it makes the game more fun. I like challenge.

Not using Orlandu is barely a restriction. You don't even have him for like 7/8 of the game. Try an SSCC if you want an insane challenge. Short version for those not familiar. Ramza only, limited purely to one class with no abilities outside of your class whatsoever. There's a level cap for each chapter(20/35/50/70 iirc) I've tried the geomancer SSCC twice. Made it to Wiegraf/Velius the first time and to Dycedarg/Adramelk the second time. I've thought about doing an easier one (geomancer is somewhere in the middle according to the guys on the site who like to do these).

I basically never play FFT with a full party anymore. I've done some other challenges with a partial party, my favorite is the Tactics Double dare, which gives you two characters, each with two classes. I've actually completed some of those.

Otherwise, nah. I rarely beat games once, let alone more than once.

No, not really.

But for some reason, I just naturally wanted to do mostly runs in both System Shock 2 and Bioshock. Eventually did switch to the assault rifle in SS2 and by no means restricted myself to using just melee weapons though.
