Then if you go out for an after dinner drinks the other guy may pay for that. I'll pay for the first few dates if they'll allow but usually it ends up being a split fairly quick. Theoretically if I was gay and I asked someone out I'd plan on paying for that date. After the first date maybe 2 or 3 I'd assume we're splitting. If one guy makes significantly more, he's likely to be expected to pay more often between them. However, the guy who makes less is still expected to chip in to show effort. Standard routine when serving straight guys.
