Blue_Dream87 06/22/17 7:50:37 AM #21:	Shiki and Texhnolyze are great at showing how dark all sides can be in a conflict. Texhnolyze definitely takes the creep/dark factor and cranks it up to 11 in the second half. I've still yet to watch anything that can top that. Perfect Blue is a mindfuckfest and is the most "realistic" in its depictions. Really captures the descent into madness that accompanies becoming detached from your identity. There are a few scenes that can be too much and will leave you like "what the fuck", mainly because of how they're realistic scenarios with some amazing cinematography and imagery. Now and Then, Here and There tackles some darker themes with child soldiers and rape. Has an amazing story that shows many characters suffering in a world that uses and abuses them for its own gain. Ergo Proxy has the best dystopic setting in an anime if you're looking for that. Many characters make a dark/creepy turn by the second half, and there are a few who are uncanny from the beginning. If you're looking for Supernatural dark with androids, here you go. Serial Experiments Lain, I think the show has a reputation already so you know what to expect. Straightforward mindfuck. You want some horrific imagery in surreal shots, here you go. Just don't expect to understand what is going on half the time. There are tons more anime that are simply dark/creepy, but the ones I listed have a bit more going for them. If I had to recommend only one, it would be Texhnolyze.
