I'm 27 and still getting IDed if I buy M rated games.

Getting carded at the packy I can understand cause I guess I could pass for very early 20s and selling liquor to a minor is a serious offence, but I don't think I look fucking 16.

I don't buy many M-rated games, but I do get carded whenever I trade something in. Do they do that for everyone for trade-ins though? I'm not sure.

I've never traded in, so I don't know.

And yeah they have to do that for all trade ins so you don't steal games and sell them.

Every goddamn time lol. It bugs me because I've been going to the same GameStop for like 3 years now and the same guy cards me every time I buy a rated M game. I don't know how he can't remember by now that I'm old enough to buy rated M games

Nah, because the employees recognize me. If it's a new person, there's a chance I might, but generally not.

I think its more of a CYA thing. You never know whose watching.

I used to work at Dunkin' Donuts and sometimes corprate would send people in as undercover customers.

Come to think of it, how to age restricted sales work when you use steam or the PStore?

I don't usually buy from gamestop, but a few months ago I bought an m-rated game from them. They I'D me and spent about 15 seconds looking hard at my ID in a detailed fashion (then looking up at me then down again). Dude, you have to check it that strongly? I'm in my mid thirties. Give it a quick look and keep it moving.

But I don't blame him. I blame corporate and their asinine rules

if you don't want to be carded just

buy it from Walmart, target, Best Buy, amazon, etc...

with the added benefit of not having to go to Gamestop

Sometimes. I also frequently get stopped at the mall. "Minors aren't allowed here unaccompanied after 8pm," well here's my ID showing that I'm in my mid 20s. I try to take it as more of a compliment than anything.

I haven't been carded to purchase something since I was a teenager. That's probably due to the fact that I've looked like I was 30 and sounded like I was 40 since around then though.

Edit: Oh wait, I actually got carded buying smokes a few months back, and it was super fucking weird because the same cashier had been selling me smokes every morning for five years or so and that's the only time he's ever carded me. That was pretty strange.

I remember I was at the midnight release of a Call of Duty or Batman game. This guy was carding and the guy behind me was 16. He gave me $80 to buy the game for him and told me to keep the change. Of course I did.

I still occasionally get asked to produce a proof-of-age when buying my weekend tipple on a Friday afternoon. This was irksome at first, although now I find it somewhat amusing for two reasons. Firstly, I am no longer eighteen. Secondly, I doubt many under-eighteens would decide that their underage drink of choice would be Laphroaig Quarter Cask.
