I'm in the bay area and have been with metro for ages due to the lack of contact. However, it's slow and now that Verizon is offering the unlimited plan for $80 a month I might do it. What are the pros/con? I would be buying an unlocked pixel XL if I make the move.

It would only be $20 more a month and the service would be more reliable.

i have verizon. service is very good, or at least it is in my area (northeast). my fiancee has sprint and my friend has AT&T and the service is noticeably better than theirs in terms of where i get coverage.

my plan is kind of expensive though, it's like $70 a month for 4GB of data (after taxes, with a $20 line access fee, etc), and then with my iphone 7's monthly payment i'm paying like $100+ a month, which is a huge pain in the ass.

overall though i have no complaints and have no interest in switching to another carrier at the moment, although the cost is pretty annoying.

Cricket. Same prices as Sprint but uses AT&T's towers so you get AT&T's coverage and reliability which are better than Verizons, and for Sprint prices.

It's the best of all worlds.

i mean verizon is fine

just know that if you get the $80 plan, even without a phone you're still going to have a $20 line access fee tacked on, then you have taxes and shit like that, insurance if you opt for it, etc so your plan will be $100~

Verizon lies so much. They lie about their prices, plans, coverage, reliability, and everything.

Stay away. You have no idea what you're buying actually exists if you get it from Verizon.

In my area I've had Verizon for all my teen and adult life. My wife who I've been with for around 15 years now has jumped around many services in that time, just about all of them except Cricket, and now she only uses Verizon too. There's a good reason for that.

Went in today to check and after taxes and fees it came out to $88.34 per month. So I think I'm going when it

There aren't really any Walmarts near by. What would the Walmart provide that the store can't?

TC, check to see if your job gives you a discount at Verizon. I still have a 18% off monthly bill discount from my old job tacked onto my Verizon plan. It's nice.

I've had Verizon for years. It might be a little more expensive but I have never had an issue with service. Also their customer service has been great (in my experience). I can't really compare it to any other service since it's all I've had for a long time, but I am definitely happy with it.

Unfortunately for the unlimited plan you cannot use discounts

I have it and they accept my work discount. I work for local government though so not sure if that plays a factor.

Yeah but straight talk doesn't have the best reception. It does use verizon or AT&T's towers but you aren't getting the same coverage as those providers. It's a great deal if it works for you though.

i've had verizon for a decade and it's great. little pricey like mentioned but not really that much more. it's like an extra $10-20 a month. i'm on a 3 person family plan and it would be like $150~ a month if you don't include the 1 phone that's being financed and insurance costs. limited data and minutes tho.

i'm thinking about switching to tmobile in a couple months for unlimited everything for a cheaper price. i have a 20% discount but verizon doesn't take it for the unlimited plan so my bill would go up like $50 if i switched to that.

tmobile is a little worse service but friends with it never really complained. then it's unlimited everything and i'll still be able to use my discount.
