I don't really relate at all.

My main reason is that I don't want to disappoint my parents and grandparents. My sister came out years ago, and while they accepted it and are happy she has a girlfriend, my mom did cry some since it was her only daughter.

So I'm stuck in the closet. Maybe I'll consider it after one of my brothers has a kid, as I think that'll soften the blow quite a bit.

I don't think most of it would apply, beyond the first bit. Being gay is apart of what I know you as, but that's after being a dirty pats fan, the skinny jeans, and being basically an american brit. bro hugs aren't thought about in sexual manner...and i've literally never heard of 2 dudes having an "impromptu" eye staring contest, dude was prob legit flirting.

Sure, some people wouldn't be able to handle it. And I get that even though that part makes them shitty, there's reasons why you were friends before finding that out.

But I'm a straight guy, it's impossible for me to fully grasp what you go through.

I have those feelings too, but not to the same extent as the comic artist. I'm self conscious of being thought of as "the gay guy" and the first picture in the comic is a great portrayal of that. But my friends wouldn't worry about hugging me, and they don't show each other porn or anything in the first place.

I think I came out to maybe two people at work. Not a month later everyone knew.

Thankfully most people were pretty cool about it and didn't treat me any differently but I think next place I work, I'm keeping this crap to myself.

I only don't like mentioning my sexuality at work related functions, amongst friends I don't care and I have plenty of straight friends. Even shared the bed with many of em.

It definitely doesn't apply to my friend group, especially since it includes other gay people. Hell, some of the straight guys flirt with me more because they know I'm gay.

As far as employment, at my last job, my boss was gay. But even when I worked at an immigration office with mostly Hispanic Catholics, I mentioned I was gay as soon as someone insinuated that I should date their cousin. I don't give a shit about people thinking it defines me. If they're that closed-minded, that's their problem. If anything, their prejudices will be proven wrong through extended contact with me.

And the person in that comic is speaking clearly as a closeted dude. Either your friends will accept you, keep joking with you, and give you hugs, or they're shitty people and treat you like crap. Why are all comics nowadays done in this dumb anime-inspired style

I showed a gay friend straight porn once, but I've also done this with straight friends. Other than that though I don't think I'm guilty of this as a straight guy with several gay friends. I can definitely see how this type of stuff can happen though. Hopefully it happens less and less as society gets more used to LGBT life being normal.

Especially since I prefer girls anyways, it seems kinda pointless to bring it up when that's all people will see me as, especially since there's a huge stigma against bi men.
