You don't have puppy dog insurance? It's like 30$ a month through banfield pet hospital at petsmart.

Blood work is free, free dental cleaning every 6 months, all doctor visits are free, and then most things are at least 10% off that are not covered

Not for old pets. Not at all.

no he's 12 years old with a heart murmur and has seizures. that insurance would be way too expensive now. i adopted him when he was already 5 so it wouldn't have been a low premium at that point.

if i ever get another dog in the future i'll probably get it

Did you get it when the cat was already 14 with previous conditions? Or have you had it for a while?

I've had him his whole life, but I just got the insurance like two years ago. I got it mainly for the dental cleaning, because that alone without the insurance is like 500$.

They didn't ask about preexisting conditions or anything like that. After I signed up they took his blood work and his liver numbers were high, and he was prescribed medication. That was free too.

They did say that if the animal dies before the year is up I'd still have to pay the rest of the year

i'm not really going to worry about pet insurance for ernie. i'll just get it if i ever get another dog because for puppies it's like $15 a month.
