I was watching some reality tv border protection show from Australia. This guy is going through customs at the airport and long story short he's got half a million dollars worth of cocaine in his checked in bag, poorly concealed in some shitty statues. Like literally just lying in the bag that he takes through the airport.

His response as soon as they open the bag is "Those are not mine! I didn't pack my bag. My colleague did. I can't remember his name."

Really? Your colleague packed your bag? Who the fuck does that anyway?

I just don't understand how someone accrues that much fucking product and yet does something so astronomically stupid. I thought drug dealers just ship it these days?

The person smuggling the coke is almost never the leader of the operation. It's just some dude who was hoping to get paid by taking all the risk for someone else.

Right, but I mean that seems like an awful lot of cocaine to risk in a way that's so obviously not going to work. I dunno.
