Emo and shit, maybe, but at least they weren't perving on anything with a pair of t**s. I can't stand that stereotypical shit in works of fiction. I loved how neither Cloud nor Squall gave a mother fuck about the opposite gender. That's how it should be.

I replayed it a while back, had more fun than the first time when it came out. It's actually a really amazing Final Fantasy, I never did like the character designs though beyond Garnet and Vivi.

Zidane has the most character growth out of Cloud and Squall though. Which makes him a better character than the other two overall (although they're all good in their own right).

And Vivi's the only one with interesting development. Other people, like Amarant and Freya, got the short end of the stick when it came to focus in the story.

pretty much what i said earlier, he's just a fucking stereotypical "dudebro" personality without the dudebro looks or muscles. He hits on everyone and thinks he's a fucking stud, all the while looking like a gosh damned monkey creature and it's just off-putting and annoying.

Especially considering the previous THREE main protagonists--Terra (FF6), Cloud (FF7) and Squall (FF8)--had no such problem and were focused solely on their own personal missions; they didn't flirt or hit on anyone and had no interest in such trivial matters. Yes, they all had potential romantic interests, except for maybe Terra, who was trying to figure all that shit out and finish puberty, I guess, but at least she didn't waste time hitting on anything with a dick. Squall opened up towards the end of his little journey, but it was not only believable but enjoyable, as well. Plus, he was focused on ONE person, not EVERY one, like Zidane. And Cloud, well, same thing, pretty much.

I don't care for Zidane, I hate to admit. In addition to his terrible character traits, he is absolutely ABYSMAL in battle mechanics when compared, again, to the last three main characters. Like he's just trash, and his trance moves are all dumb and do the same shit, yet they wasted time giving different animations and edgy-as-fuck names to all of them: Stellar Circle 5 and Meo Twister, oooOoooo! Grand Lethal, ooooh my goodness!

Yeah, fuck that. Omnislash and Renzokuken any day. Also, Terra's trance was much better, just saying.

FF9 is still a good game but I never liked it as much as most people seem to. 6, 7, 8 and 10 are my favorites of the series. 4 is good too, but it's too old to really compare with the modern, better ones.

Meh I like Zidane for his kind heartedness and I kinda like the fact that he's a player honestly. Wasn't the douche bag emo like Squall and Cloud were.
