i want a nice round muscular ass so i'm doing squats but i dont feel any tension in my ass

i feel a lot in my thighs tho

i feel like i'm doing it correctly:
- knees dont go past toes
- back arched
- i am keeping my feet really spread apart tho

Also, try angling your feet in different ways. Try pointing them outwards a bit more, or the opposite until you "feel" it. But also, just because you aren't feeling it, doesn't necessarily mean you aren't hitting it.

there are guidelines for squats, but if you look at a shit ton of different athletes performing them, they are often tailored to that athlete's body

Start doing deadlifts with some actual weights and you will feel it in your ass real good TC. If you got long legs/problems bending your knees all the way feel free to get some blocks to raise the low point of the lift a few inches if necessary.

Squat down to at least parallel.
When standing back up, torque your legs into the ground and force your knees outward.
Make sure you're staying tight at the bottom, and don't let your chest fall forward. Leg extension should happen at the same time as pulling your chest up a bit.

When you stand back up, make sure you're engaging your glutes/ass, try to focus on only using those muscles to stand up. Make sure you're driving through your heels as well, and not through the front of your feet. I've always kind of had issues with balance when doing squats and usually fall forward and drive up through the front of my feet. I'm working on it though.

Also, I second/third doing deadlifts.
