I think it's moral to ask the people who've gained the most from our wonderful country to pay a higher percent of their earnings (50, 60, or 70% highest bracket), so that we can pay our debt and provide social services like retirement, medical expenses, and disability insurance to those who are less fortunate. =)

As for me personally, no, I don't think I'm entitled to other people's wealth. But that's because I'm already a fairly high earner. I think I need to be taxed more! I think I should be the one providing my wealth to other people, vis-a-vis the tax system.

Anyone who votes no but also thinks everyone should have to pay taxes so that everyone has healthcare is being a hypocrite.

By your logic, anyone who believes in any kind of taxes and public services are hypocrites, not just about healthcare.

No, but I do believe that it is the government's job to promote the wellbeing and flourishing of its people, and it's kinda hard to do that without infrastructure, education, police, health services, etc.

Don't you realize that the government wastes most of the dollars it collects in taxes?

That's the common refrain from people who hate government, but I would still rather pay my fair share in taxes and be my brother's keeper than let so many suffer without. =)

In a better world, yes. 1% of the population shouldn't be allowed to horde all of the money while there are people who are lucky to eat that day. Greed shouldn't be celebrated. In reality, "working the hardest" can only get you so far, if that was true, then Mexican laborers and blacks working 2-3 jobs would be in the 1%.

Generally, no

I'm okay with paying for infrastructure and government services that I benefit from

I also think some services, such as health care, should be government managed - and I'm okay paying for that as well

Beyond that... I'm also okay with paying for food stamps/wic/ etc out of the goodness of my heart, but no I don't think the recipients are specifically entitled to my wealth

That doesn't mean you're entitled to it. It just means the government can (and will) take our money by force whenever it feels like it, regardless of whether or not you want or use these public services.

I don't have a problem with inherited wealth. It was never my money to begin with, and the person who owned it first can will it to whomever they want.
