Seems a lot of people think he was the smartest person who ever lived. I am not inclined to agree, but whatever.

Well, he developed a theory about space that made somewhat of an impact on his field, and it was about time too.

What about inventors? You know inventors of shit that you use everyday, like computers and cell phones and tvs? I think those dudes get shortchanged imo

I think its pointless trying to figure out who is smartest. I still believe that you can't accurately calculate intelligence. There's way too many things that can affect the results.

Really smart

Smart

Normal

Below normal

That's all there is.

Marketers, tbh.

You drop a rock and it falls. You drop it a thousand times and it falls. You have a thousand tries to figure out any information you want about how it falls. So far, at least. I'm a firm believer it might not the next time.

You can recreate basically any sey of circumstances so that you can verify that it falls the same way. Getting the rock to fall the way you want it to might take some creativity at times but you get as many tries as you want.

People? Hell no.

You show a thousand people an ad, and they will think a thousand different things for a thousand different reasons. Some will be radically different than others. You show it to them a second time and they will think a different thousand things.

And the worst part is you actually don't know what they're thinking. You can't. You have no way of knowing whether you did it right or wrong, even after a thousand tries. And yet marketers are able to come up with ads that not only make them think what they want them to think, with nothing at all to use as experimental data to determine this, but take those variations which will exist in that thought and funnel them into a specific response.

Holy. Freaking. Crap.

This makes the most intelligent man ever actually Josiah Wedgwood.

Impossible to really say. That being said, he probably had the single most profound impact on modern science compared to anybody. He moved the collective knowledge of humanity further by himself than just about anyone before or since.

Maybe or maybe not. The thing about it is any great intelligence can only work with what's available at the time. He was a genious in the more recent times with newer tools avaialable. There will be someone equal to him in intelligence again in a time where more technology is available to improve society. I think it all depends on the time they were born because you can see people way ahead of there time throughout the past.
