It seems like a lot of it is because of the instability and state of the countries they're coming from. Unfortunately this is often an issue with countries in a position like that. But ISIS and the rise of social media is a giant flame to that fuel tank. It gives an incentive for people to be martyrs if they feel ostracized or hate Western ideals. No idea what the solution is. It sucks for everyone stuck in the crossfire who just want to live their lives peacefully.

The problem isn't islam as much as it's young people being easily endoctrinated into doing crazy things

Why is it almost uniquely Islam that does that to young people, though? 99% of recent terror attacks were because of Islam. Why aren't the Amish and their ideology producing that many terrorists?

Young people being indoctrinated to violence or evil isn't unique to Islam. The biggest difference here is the method.

There are plenty of evil cults out there that manage to indoctrinate vulnerable and weak people to do insane things for them. It's not unique to Islam at all. Look up Children of God. A crazy Christian cult that convinced its members to commit pedophilia around the world. And this was in a first world country. Even if we exclude religion you have troubled youths getting swallowed up by gang culture.

The biggest difference with ISIS is the scale of it and their methods. The combination of being able to capitalize on Islamic texts to support their extremist agenda and having their roots in an incredibly dangerous and unstable environment is a perfect environment for scum like them to fester.

The universal stuff with all of this is that tribe mentality of us vs them really. Seems like people can really get suckered into that and convinced to do some evil shit.

The Irish Republican Army? They do not seek to establish anything remotely similar to a caliphate. Meaning many of their members could be Chritian, but they're not doing what they're doing because of or for Christianity. What EPA are you referring to?

I'm talking about other terrorist organizations that aren't tied to Islam. My point is that it isn't "almost uniquely Islam that does that to young people". (and it's not young people, it's young men specifically)
