I wound up getting my degree by the skin of my teeth in an incredibly bittersweet fashion that kind of ruined my self-esteem. I was the vp and ifc rep for a national greek fraternity. I was president of a dorm and vp for all the dorms by the end od my sophmore year.
Due to stress and mild lady problems, I walked from it all. Ended my undergrad playing warcracft and watching my grades slide. Backed into a second choice grad school to get a phd. Barely finished with a MA. This all happened between 2003 and 2011. Crazy ride. I did it all though from crazy nights out to exestential dread in the grad school apartment after 6 days without stepping outside. --- You know how fads are. Nope sadly. Looking back on it, I really did go to college to have the social experience more than anything else. I came out with a pretty good academic experience, I didn't actually realize how good the academic aspect of it was until after graduation, but looking back it was actually really high quality. Sadly I wasn't socially outgoing enough to do all the partying and other fun things that I imagined college students do, like staying up late having debates on politics or philosophy or something.
I went to a pretty big school where for the first few years it felt like every class was a new wave of strangers who I'd never see again. By the time I was in more upper division courses classes started to get smaller and I started to get to know people. I think I hit my stride during my last 2 semesters but then I graduated, so it's a shame it took me so long to get my shit together basically. --- I may not go down in history, but I will go down on your sister. ...
