imo an ideal nap is roughly an hour and a half - a full REM cycle. I usually have an alarm set for an hour and 45, and I almost always wake up, fully refreshed, after an hour and a half.

pretty sure its closer to 30-45 min so you dont fall into REM

the best naps are ones where you don't wake up in the middle of a REM cycle. it works whether you complete it or don't start it in the first place

Actually it probably was closer to an hour and a half now that you mention it, since I woke up naturally.

it probably doesn't work consistently the same way for everyone, but I've lived for months at a time on a sleep schedule of going to bed late/getting up early/taking a 90-minute nap in late afternoon, and I 100% recommend it
