But think about it...even if you have to spend money on packaging and distribution processes, you're still going to have the cost advantage. Salt mines are expensive to run when you consider all the personnel and equipment required, as well as things like regulations, property taxes, and more distribution costs. So, you should be able to sell your salt for way less than Morton's. Or, you could spend more money on marketing your product, and just have slightly lower prices than Morton's. Of course, you will still be seeing massive profit margins as well, because your prices won't need to be ridiculously low. Cutting out the production costs will literally save you that much money. Eventually, your salt company will take Morton's place as the world's foremost salt producer and supplier. Imagine if it was you...imagine a world where you would see krazychao5's Salt in grocery stores instead of Morton's Salt. I'll bet Morton got laid a bunch for being the salt guy. That could be you getting laid instead, as the new salt guy. I'm not saying you are salty. I'm just painting a theoretical scenario for discussion's sake. Woah woah woah, TC is creating the salt. We'd have to pay him to get my name on it ;P Distribution chains are expensive and unwieldy if you do not have the expertise and economies of scale. I'd say we could find a logistics partner instead of creating our own.
