I consider this in the same vein as businesses who did (or still do) charge people $100+ dollars just for simple things like defragging or reformatting their computer. It's stuff that's so easy pretty much anyone could do it with a small time investment, but to old people it's crazy "space age" technology that only qualified technicians can wrap their heads around.

I'm not sure though, on second thought. The only reason I can think of having someone build a computer would be having a super powered gaming PC for cheap. Older people probably aren't looking for that so much, and younger ones would either already know or would just Google/YouTube how to do it.

Nobody pays a percentage anymore, its $80-$100 regardless of the parts

I literally know 10 year olds who built their own PC's.

However you could probably have a little side thing to make some extra cash. Running an eBay store or something selling builds for a small profit

Maybe before the internet was popular and you could just google "how to build a PC", because that's what I did many years ago so I wouldn't have to pay some guy to build me a new PC.
