I saw a listing for these two dogs named Pretzel and Praline. They're cute little Miniature Pinschers about 6 months old. Our house isn't ready to move in yet, so I hope they can hold them for 2 weeks for us.

Anyone have experience adopting dogs? Do you think they'll hold them?

We saw my dog and fell in love with him, but we needed to make sure it was okay with dad, so my mom asked for the shelter to put a deposit down on him they said no. Luckily even though lots of people looked at him, one of the workers kept saying he already has a family and we got him the next day. 13 1/2 years later he's still doin alright. Sleeping on the couch RN.

Well that's good. I haven't met the dogs in person, so I would be ok if we couldn't get them. But I really hope we can get these two little dogs.

They probably won't hold them for two weeks. Local shelters around here will only hold for one day, and that's with a deposit.

They can't turn other dogs away hoping you might come back in two weeks to pick these up, basically.

That makes sense. I guess it's my fault for looking too early.

That's not to say that they won't still be there. They might. If not, just keep looking. Plenty of good dogs needing homes out there.

Good luck! Adopting is the way to go.

Should already be fixed, updated on shots(assuming they're old enough), and microchipped.

my family has only ever adopted dogs (except for one time this guy was throwing puppies over a bridge and my uncle gave him everything in his wallet to take them home)
my fiancée and I moved to a new place back in February and we adopted our own dog not long after

Nothing wrong with adopting dogs if you're not able to conceive them

i technically adopted from someone who couldn't take care of the puppy, the dog was free but the medical bills weren't couldn't get that dog healthy till it was about a year old. though the results was excellent. after the mange cleared up it had a nice black with brindle coat.

still take care of her to this day for the past 6 years (happens to be the longest i have owned a dog).
