Anyone who is talking your ears off telling you how much better they are because of the way they live their lives compared to yours, on any aspect, are annoying as hell. On the same reasoning, if they don't bother you, but you are the one looking down on them, and bothering them, then the annoying one is you.

Exmaple:
A: annoying vegetarians rambling on to meat-eaters about the benefits of vegetarianism.
B: Vegetarian keeps to himself about his choices, but has meat-eaters rambling on about how they must be lacking some nutrition, and the benefits of meat-eating.

Both ramblers are wrong in annoying the other person,

More:
Drinkers vs non-drinkers.

As someone who has never smoked or drank alcohol, I always feel (perhaps wrongly) that people are looking down on me.

Continuing on what Laserion said, I can't count how many time's I've been at a party/event and someone says "just one sip" "please" "why not?!?" "for me" "just one sip and I'll never ask you ever again". It's so annoying and makes me want to drink even less.

Same experience

Whenever I'd be at a party just chilling with people I would always get these weird stares from others because I wasn't drinking or declined a drink

It was like a cult.

I eventually stopped going to parties because it was just annoying and focused on things I really enjoy (like the outdoors)

Uh, no? I don't get hung up about other people's personal choices, as long as they're not harming anyone else.

I used to be straight edge, until halfway through my first year of college. A lot of them are looking down on you.

One friend told me he was proud of me, when I started drinking... WTF why is that something to be proud of.

What if you just have soda in your cup, pretend it has alcohol, and just act like the other people, who are actually drunk, are acting? Like dancing on tables, etc. Would that be better?

Only really criticized it when Punk wouldn't take painkillers...he looked like shit towards the end of his WWE career.

Well it wasn't like the whole party stopped and all eyes were on me, but it happened almost every time. Usually about 3 people

It'd be great if that doesn't happen now as that's one of the dumbest things you can be judged for
