It's a reminder that this is what my life is:

1. Wake up
2. Get ready
3. Go to work
4. Come home
5. Browse the web
6. Sleep

Repeat.

Then on Sundays I reflect on this and then I reflect on the fact that I literally sat in my computer chair all day on the weekend and just browsed forums.

Turning 26 in July and this is my life. It's been like this for the past 2 years.

What's stopping you from doing something different?

Go to a rock climbing gym. Go to a book store and don't leave without a book. Build something with wood.

Just do something different next Sunday.

Then do the rock climbing suggestion. It's inherently a social activity because you need a belayer. Everyone at the gym is super friendly, just find someone alone and ask for a catch.

i'm just really awkward around strangers, man. I speak very timidly, my shoulders slouch, and I can't look them in the eye. I have nothing to talk about, and I'm scared of coming across as a weirdo. Like whenever I start talking to a stranger, I'm always trying to think of witty/funny things to say, but it's just so fucking hard and there'll be long pauses in the conversation. I can normally bust out with funny stuff to say when talking to friends, but with strangers, it's impossible, and I don't know how to carry the conversation without it because it's just so boring.

Just ask people about their self. People LOVE to talk about themselves.

Or just anything really. Social interaction is vital to humans.

thing is tho when I speak in that timid way of speaking, I ask really mundane questions and it ends up sounding like an interview.

TC, how are you doing financial-wise? I am the same as you except I am saving and investing so much of my money that my passive income is currently about 40% of my pay. I am also an introvert and socially awkward as hell, but I don't get depressed because I am way ahead financially compared to my peers.

If it makes you feel any better, I am 32. Same daily routine as you but I play games instead of web browsing. Still staying with parents because rent-free, hehe.

I'm in the low six figures.

No way in hell I make that much passive income lol. I'm pretty much all in on index funds, and I'm expecting a huge market drop within the next 5-7 years, but I'm going to hold on and just buy more when the drop happens. It should recover in about a year.

I'm definitely ahead, but it's not like I have a lot of money to do whatever I want. I still have to work. I'll probably be at that point where I can do whatever I want in about 10 years.

Join clubs that will get you socialising more. An acting club, a martial art, photography classes, whatever.

You're probably only getting this one life, so fill it with fun experiences.

Yeah, there's no way I can stop working now. I figured I'd cover my basic financial needs first before working on my social life later, which I'd probably do via solo travel in the future. I really hope this plan works out lol

In in the same situation as you. However in my case I'm just too tired from working, so going out feels more like a chore to me...

However on Holidays, after I rested the weekend the holiday I feel like I have so much free time I start doing other things but then the next day work starts again and whatever I was doing the day before gets suspended as Im tired and the cycle starts again.

=(

Hey man, you seem pretty successful, but this sounds like an excuse. You say you are awkward around strangers, so what, be awkward around strangers. Eventually it will become easier. Everyone else feels like you do. Being social comes easier to some people, but that doesn't mean we can't learn it. I consider myself to be sociable, but I am CONSTANTLY putting my foot in my mouth and staying dumb/boring stuff. Be confident and do you.
