I don't think many people consciously decide "I don't want to date Mexicans" but the repulsion they might feel from Mexicans, though involuntary, is a racist one.

Nothing you say will change this.

Moving on, I don't think you can actually say "I don't date X people" without being racist because a) you're categorizing, then denying them, on the basis of race and b) your attraction to them is affected by race

Again, nobody here is challenging your right to date whomever.

You can prefer not to date them, (like I prefer not to date white women) but you can't exclude them just cause of their race.

What? Yes you can. If you don't want to date black women, you don't want to date black women. It doesn't mean you're racist or you hate them or view them as equals, it means you simply aren't attracted to black women. If you date a black woman just because you feel like you're supposed to include her, and you're not attracted to her, the relationship will fail and both parties will get hurt for that stupid reason.

The way I see it, it's similar to not liking women of a certain hair color or hair length.

This is how I've always seen it, as long as we mean being unattracted to certain skin colors. Can't help who you're attracted to and who you're not. I don't really understand it though and people like that are missing out imo, but to each their own.
