For example, I think that looking at it as a whole, I think Final Fantasy 6 is the "better" game than Suikoden 2 and than Valkyrie Profile. And I would be more likely to recommend it to people.

However, I personally enjoy playing Suikoden 2 and Valkyrie Profile more, for whatever reason. More personal attachment.

Same thing with Earthbound.

Two Worlds is a mess of a game, but for me it was more fun than many rpgs of the time

I'm not in the business of comparing games anymore. I just enjoy what I enjoy and let people have their opinions about them.

Yes, definitely.

For example, I'm known for bashing the hell out of certain games on a certain board. But really, who cares if you like those games? As long as you have fun, it's okay.

Oh easily.

Games are often more than the sum of their parts.

You can better or smoother stand alone mechanics, faster loading times, more content etc but still be less fun and have less feeling.

Final Fantasy IX is one of the best games ever made but it has 99 flaws that have been ironed out by more recent titles.

It's still better, because it has such am immersive world and feeling

Yes, I've enjoyed a lot of games that have gotten a mixed critical reception and I understand why some don't like them

I'm playing Deadly sin 2, an RPGmaker game that is minimal in every aspect but somehow manages to hold my attention.

My second favorite Need For Speed game is The Run despite having the shortest single player mode ever (takes roughly 2 and a half hours to beat), if only because I like the whole Cannonball Run thing they have going for (same deal with Cruis'n USA back in the day)

I thought Prototype 2 was a worse game than 1 but that's the one I spent more time playing eheu.
