Now, in my defense, it would not have hurt so much if it was just hot and someone didn't leave it on. So, in a way, it was a good thing I noticed.

Should be fine. Just a little numb. The gauze is making it hard to type though.

Lots of people sand their plates down here so the chars can't be made out. In Japan, they can, and do, get plates that actually light up. Each to their own lol.

Also, most stoves show which element is still hot. Check for the orange light.

Yeah, element itself lights up when it's heating up, but it was on somewhat low. So I guess it considered itself hot enough that it was just in standby waiting to get cold enough that it needed to heat up some more.

Other than that, on our stove there's just a little light on the back that is lit up whenever one of the elements is even a little warm. It doesn't indicate which one.

Yeah, totally fine. Just stung for a little bit when I did it, and I can't bend the end finger that got the worst of it too well.

I thought it'd be cool to do a drum solo on the stove (no indications of recent use) with my hands when I was about 6. That sucked, but luckily it was a slap and not holding it there.

When I first saw topic, I wondered if you were talking about how you got blown to bits by those monkeys.... but that wasn't really anything you had any control over.

How long did you put your hand on the stove? Whenever I have to check i usually hover my hand over it to feel for heat. If i can't then i tap it real quick. Kind of like how the guy checked the door knob on home alone.
