Like do they have family reunions that consists of 2nd, 3rd cousins, great great uncles, aunts, grandma's husband's sister and stuff of the like. Just a huge get together of 50 or more people.

my dad's side used to have family reunions. but not extended family like you described. more like aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma/pa, great grandma/pa. but that would be about the extent of it. not like 3rd cousins and beyond.

I'm half white and was raised by my white mother and her white family with my other mostly white siblings and we never had family reunions growing up. It pissed me off because I would always hear about other people having them or see them on TV shows. I asked my mom one day why we never had family reunions and she explained to me that every time we get together on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and sometimes other birthdays, all the people who came were the whole family. We never had anyone living outside of the DFW metroplex so it wasn't hard to get everyone together pretty regularly. So we didn't have family reunions but pretty much every holiday was one.

We used to when I was younger, we used to have anniversary parties because my aunt's and my grandparent's anniversaries were so close together. We'd all exchange gifts and spend the day together.

Nowadays though, our family is split in half, so my side likes to get together for holidays and birthdays, but that is much smaller.

I was just curious because ive never seen a white person wear a family reunion shirt like, "Ludwig Family" or "Jefferson Family"

I do hear that they have get togethers around Thanksgiving or so, but even then its not really the extended family.

I picture it like the cousins grow up with each other, but once they start a family, that's it. No more getting together. Whereas my family, we are all still talking and having huge reunions down to 5th and 6th cousins

We've had a couple large reunions of extended family. Was too young to remember much about the first one but the last one was when I was an adult (so they were like 20 years apart) and it was a great time.

Definitely not a regular thing for us though

I thought it was a white people thing.
