Well if you live in the city there's actually decent radio stations usually unless you're one of those people who only listen to like 5 different bands and they're all obscure.

Best day to listen to the local radio station is on Fridays.

Friday Free for alls on the weekends where people call in to have actual good music from classic rock etc from the 1970s and 1980s.

That and contests and free giveaways are pretty neat too.

In my experience it's the opposite; I'm near a big city and our radio stations suck, but the last time I listened to the radio in an area with smaller cities it was way better

It is unusual in a day and age where digital music and streaming are readily available, and car stereos that can play these can be found for cheap or are even stock on some newer vehicles. Once you explore those options, I don't know why anyone would want to listen to the shit on the radio. Even if you like it, it's not like it's exactly very hard to obtain that music outside of the radio
