To any of you that enjoy this game, there was a huge change to the game's system (mostly adding in that stupid fucking crate system from Overwatch), but if you log in before May 22 you get to choose between 5 bundles that each contain 20 characters.

It's a solid deal for returning players and new ones. I love HotS so I'm pretty stoked to have my roster filled out more.

Either way, there are bound to be a bunch of free heroes you dont have. I chose one bundle where I only had 4 characters out of the 20 already, so it was a nice bump to my roster.

HotS is the MOBA for people that hate MOBAs. It's the Super Smash Bros of the MOBA genre.

Agreed, but then a lot of us wouldn't bother buying new heroes after that if we could get exactly who we wanted

You'll probably like HotS. It's definitely a fairly casual game, but it basically streamlines or removes anything in LoL that leads to toxicity. HotS and Overwatch are my go-to pick up and play casual multiplayer games

Yeah, but you know this going in. HotS does not advertise itself as some super deep MOBA, it's a very fun "hero brawler" with what I would say is a fairly clever premise in a genre that is pretty sterile and stale IMO

You know absolutely nothing about anything, you don't know what that enemy arthas does, you don't know how strong he is, you simply just hit him and watch animations having no clue what the damage is, where it's coming from, how often it's coming, how he's stunning you, why it happens or anything, how can you form any strategy at all?

you're literally just watching your tauren chieftain his the lich king and wondering what all these random numbers mean, it's like playing an action game without any UI and just quick time events or just button mashing a fighting game where the healthbars are hidden.

yea true, it's a very "light" game. the strategy comes from working together with your team to tackle objectives, mostly, and combining your moves.

but I like that it's not some game that requires an encyclopedia knowledge of the entire system to enjoy. You pick your character, play your 20 minute match, have fun, and then can play another one or move on with your life. You don't have to sit there reading stats and articles on the meta all day like I used to do with LoL.

once again I will say it's the Super Smash Bros of MOBAs, more focused on streamlined action and accessibility than complexity, but accessibility is an underrated thing in games these days IMO

I went with this one predominantly because it also had Auriel but it also had the most characters I had not previously unlocked by a pretty big margin.

also don't forget that if you previously have played HotS then you will get a shitload of loot crates when you log in. I got a ton of skins, like two mounts, and two or three extra heroes from all my crates. I haaaaate crates in games but since I received so many I'm actually pretty satisfied with what unlocks I have now.

yea most HotS matches are like 20 min which I think is hte sweet spot. i like how the objectives are scaled so that way you know the game will end and you wont have this 2 hour thing where people just die and regroup and die and regroup and etc

Anywho, I went with the Assassin bundle. 7 new heroes, 6 out of 7 were 10,000 gold otherwise, and I wanted 5 of them already.
