Bubsy 2 tried to be ambitious by adding more features and making more re-playable, but I think it's too complicated and not as good. But still a decent game. Bubsy 3D was bad. I recall the first 2 games being received okay by fans of the genre, no more disliked than Gex or a lot of other b-list mascots. He got 3 games and a rerelease, which isn't exactly terrible. Sonic levels are designed for you to be able to get through them quickly because Sonic is a fast character so it has to be designed that way, whereas Bubsy has speed but if you even so much as try to use it, you'll quickly run into an enemy and watch the hy-lair-e-us death animation. I mean there was a bunch of cool mechanics (waterslides, flying like an airplane) but none of them came together within the levels in a way that wasn't completely dangerous to try to utilize them.
