Do you realize if Al Qaeda got their hands on just 1 thermonuclear weapon and were able to either Ballisticize the weapon, or have it transported to a port city or terminal - they could kill hundreds of thousands of civilians and destroy the economy for the short term.

Sorry, but the United States of America has about 500 countermeasures and safety mechanisms in place to make sure a nuclear weapon is never used or fired - trying to argue that we are equal to North Korea, ISIS, or anyone else is asinine.

Isn't the belief that they already have nuclear weapons? They're like two feet from the capital of the country they've been technically at war with for 65 years.

Like, NK from all appearances seems to be tyrannical towards its own people, and the regime is bad.

There's nothing wrong with the Norks having nukes per se. The last couple of years have proven that nukes are the only way to guarantee national sovereignty. Without nukes, you exist at the pleasure of those who have them. Just ask Ukraine how not having nukes turned out for them.

You're probably right. But they still have the right to develop nuclear technology, same as anyone else. You may not like it, hell, I don't like it, but that's how it is. The only alternative is to restart the Korean war and if you do that, you're handing over Asia to China, because it'll be seen as the US starting yet another war in someone else's backyard, and leaving them to deal with 25 million refugees.

No but the answer isn't going around the world beating monsters like a video game. The whole reason why North Korea even has a nuclear weapon is because that type of approach with the Bush Administration failed miserably.
