I would do a very thorough background check on that doctor if I were you

I've never heard of a doctor even considering it for a girl under 25. Doctors usually won't even give guys vasectomies that young, and those are a much smaller operation and also reversible

Look into other methods before settling for something permanent. IUD is fairly easy to maintain and you basically have to do nothing. Also a lot of doctors might reject you because they don't like doing that surgery to young people (at least here in Mexico).

I'm skeptical a doctor will actually do it for you at 18 when I have friends with medical issues that would make them die if they got pregnant and carried to term, yet nobody will even consider giving them the procedure.

The hormonal IUD messed me up, but I haven't tried the copper one yet. It's supposed to make your periods heavier tho and mine are already insane

He tried to get a vasectomy at 19 and they flat out said no and come back when your older.

So even if your 100 % sure you might just get a flat no.

It depends on the doctor, some won't do it until you're like 45 with 10 kids and others will do it for 18-19 year olds. You just gotta find the right one :p

I have an 11 month old. So far this past 2 months, I've been to 3 different tropical islands, 2 with our daughter, 1 without (most family is more than willing to take a kid off your hands for a couple days). My wife and I go on a date night pretty much every Monday (IMAX movie and dinner usually). I still get PS4 time in almost every day. We still have lots of sex. Early next month we will be going with another couple to a place called Koh Lipe for a few days to relax on the beach, smoke a lot of green and get drunk.

It's really overstated how little you can actually do with a child. Having a family that isn't terrible goes a long way.

If I regret it I can just adopt. I want to get it done asap for the peace of mind. I have extreme paranoia and it would help ease my fears. Also, I wouldn't want to pass any of my mental disorders onto someone else

Uh, no. It's not that easy as "hi I want child, give pls", you have to go through a lot of meetings, and procedures. And then, if you're lucky, you might get to meet a teenager(You're not getting a young child, much less a toddler, don't even dream), who will decide if they want to stay with you.

I know it's not that simple. It can take years and tens of thousands of dollars. But, it is a lot more planned then a pregnancy. You don't just "accidentally" adopt a kid lol. That's the point I was making

Average cost of adoption in US: $34,000
Average cost of having a child: $2000(prenatal) + $16000(uncomplicated cesarean) = $18,000

With adoption, you get about $200 a week for life. With your own child, it averages out to $250,000 to raise not including college

Over the long run, adopting isn't that bad. Not that I'll adopt

It is your body and your choice what you want to do, but you will likely change as a person in a decade as most people figure out who they are in their 20's. Today you might be an immature child who wants this or that but in 10 years you will likely have gone through life changing experiences.

If your sure you want your tubes tied then go for it, but for whatever reason in 10 years or less you change your mind it will not matter as you made your choice at 18. If you do regret your decision later then it will just be too late, the choice was made long ago.

If your sure do as you wish, but even if you think for a second you could want your own kids wait 5 years and think about it some more.

What ever you decide, it is your choice in the end, good luck whatever you decide on doing.

There are a bunch of places that won't do that surgery on you because you're too young.
