1. if you apply for a position, the employer must give you an interview, no exceptions
2. you are not allowed to require experience, unless it is for something like a doctor, lawyer, or engineer
3. Job postings must have a salary range, no more of that "pay will be based on experience" bullshit, the only employers with the balls to post that are ones who don't want to pay you anything.

Edit: forgot 2

4. Employers should be forbidden at checking credit. Your credit has no impact on how you work whatsoever
5. Every job should be represented by a union if you employ more than 20 people.

The job you're offering is not hard at all, theres absolutely nothing your company does that can't be taught in an hour at most.

I can maybe agree with the second two, but the first one would be a huge drain on company resources and probably end up getting people laid off, and shut down smaller businesses.

The way I look at this is, if you aren't willing to interview everyone, you should not be interviewing anyone.

The way you look at this makes you sound like a 17 year old who couldn't even get a job at Walmart

3 I actually agree with, I get pissed wasting my time for an interview only to find out they're only offering $20-30 an hour. I'll do side work that cheap but lol at thinking I'm going to do what I do for that price. It's why I haven't left the union yet because it's hard to beat.

1&2 are laughable though

Several years ago, a guy came into my workplace looking for a job. He absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke and we tossed his resume into the garbage after he left. Based on that first impression, there was no need to offer him an interview, because who wants to smell that all day while working?

I've had over 1500 applicants for one single job before. If you block off 30 minutes to have a proper interview, that'd be 750 hours of just interviewing, 19 weeks of interviewing people with 40 hour weeks, and about $12,000 if you pay the interviewer around $15/hr

1. There are no resources around to do this. Most companies have to filter through dozens of bottom-feeder, unemployment applications that don't qualify or aren't serious. THEN you have to filter out people who don't have relevant experience or don't seem fit for the job. THEN you have to actually figure out who you'll bring in, THEN you have to interview them. Imagine the massive waste of time you'd create by scheduling 600 interviews and only 30 of them actually want it or can come in, are qualified for it or have shown the aptitude for it. Yeah.

2. Experience is always a plus - what would an employer want, someone who already kinda knows what they're doing or someone who doesn't know shit? The answer is who it takes to train the least or get adjusted to the sytem: the one with some experience. Of course, if you're smart enough, you can make any job relevant to the job you're applying to.

3. I do agree that jobs should be more transparent with their compensation.

4. I'm not sure I've heard of companies CREDIT checking you, but a background check is usually cursory and definitely necessary to the employer. If you're a kindergarten and you're hiring, you wouldn't want to hire a pedophile, right? Now, drug tests are definitely objectionable. But a credit or background check... again haven't heard of credit checks happening, but BACKGROUND checks are good things.

5. Unions are no longer as necessary as they once were - they've served their purpose and now there are far better labor regulations in most parts of the job market. The only places where unions still thrive is in labor (mostly) and things like the screenactors guild n shit

Well I obviously cannot speak for all companies

But for my last company they did it to weed out those who are susceptible to bribes.

Companies with a universal credit-pulling approach have specific reasons for their policy. For example, Christopher Desbarres is president of Help Unlimited, which helps individuals manage their personal finances, and says his company checks all prospective employee's reports because of the nature of the business -- intimately dealing with other people's cash and accounts.

Desbarres does say, however, that credit checks are only pulled after the decision to hire. "It should be one of, if not the, last things you check. Otherwise, you are wasting time and money. It is not a good tool for weeding out potential applicants."

Well, there's something.

Credit can be a good indicator of financial status, which can be a security issue in some jobs. I know you cannot get security clearances if your credit is bad, because the employee might be susceptible to selling insider secrets to competition or other countries for financial compensation.

Like how all the Russian nuclear scientists were under investigation with selling information to Iran and terrorists a few years ago. They were under-employed and needed cash.
