So now you're at $1,130 to be on the cutting edge of console technology for one gen and that's not even counting the money that you could've saved with the better PC game sales. And you have full backwards compatibility with most games, which if you were on PS4 you'd have to rent the games individually or pay for a PS Now subscription just to be able to have access to PS3 titles on your PS4. And even if $600 was your price point then you could buy a lower end system up front, be good at 1080p/60fps for a few years and then work down to lower settings or sub 1080p/60fps if you don't mind it, or you can spend what would've been the money spent on PS+ and more expensive games to upgrade your budget system and either way still be ahead of the consoles in terms of power, and have more functionality for the same price if not cheaper.
