If you're careless sure.

Anyway what are the xbone exclusives anyway? Seems like a lot of the titles are on PC now anyway like Forza and Gears of War

As a matter of fact, all of them will be from here on as of last summer.

Then I made the right decision getting the PS4. My PC is more than capable for any current gen games.

That only matters if you're a PC gamer, I mean both platforms are run by Microsoft why is this a surprise?

No no no go back to the N64 and people didn't care about fps when the N64 was out performing the PS1 doing 30fps on most games then we go to the GC and once again Nintendo games run better but nope PS2 and Xbox etc....Now everyone cares about 60fps etc...

but still, people still cared about power, even in the 4th generation. I mean, the "bit wars" was a thing for a reason. The n64 couldn't get as many games as the ps1, partly due to outdated media and partly due to nintendo's treatment of 3rd parties. And anyways, the XBox was more powerful than the PS2 and GCN, and the PS2 had more games and could reproduce DVDs

A console + a non gaming desktop PC is gonna run you $600-$800 as it is. Most people do own a desktop for non gaming purposes.

A gaming PC that runs better than current consoles will be less than that. This is coming from someone who does both console and PC gaming.

You could build a PC on par with/better than the PS4 Pro for about $600 and that's completely from scratch assuming you don't have one to upgrade or strip parts from. If you factor in the cost of a few years of PS+, which you'll need to even be able to play online, with the system that's almost $600 as well. And PC does get better and more frequent sales than console. Then the PC has tons of potential for upgradability down the road which the console doesn't.

Lol talk about blatant lies... I'm still using my PC I built in 2011. The only thing I've done since I bought it is buy an aftermarket cooler for overclocking, more RAM, and I just upgraded the GPU to an RX 480. And PC does get better and more frequent sales than console. Then the PC has tons of potential for upgradability down the road which the console doesn't.

That is a blatant lie, and I know it is because I used to make that excuse myself back when I was gaming on PC.

Truth is PC hardware gets outdated much faster and needs a lot more maintenance.

Lol talk about blatant lies... I'm still using my PC I built in 2011. The only thing I've done since I bought it is buy an aftermarket cooler for overclocking, more RAM, and I just upgraded the GPU to an RX 480. Still handles anything I throw at it maxed out at 1080p/60fps and even before I upgraded my GPU I could've gotten away with 45-60fps at lowered settings easily...
You have no idea what you're talking about.

Did you only pay $600 for that PC?

I paid right around $900, it was a new build from the ground up and I also needed Windows and all that but lets out that into perspective.
A PS4 cost $400 at launch. Let's go by the PS3 and assume that it'll last 8 years before the PS5 (purely an assumption based of previous console lifespans) that's $400 + $480 for 8 years of PS+ is $880 for a system that can play games at 900p/1080p@30 FPS with medium settings. When said $900 PC could play at 1080p/60fps maxed out for the first few years it was out and then 1080p/60fps medium-low for the next several years, plus the benefit of mods and better game sales, ntm just the benefits of having a PC for non gaming things.
Say after the PS4 Pro came out you sold your PS4 to GameStop/on eBay/Craigslist/etc. for $150 so you could get a Pro for better performance, now you can add $250 to the $880 and even now you still don't have a machine capable of 1080p/60fps in most games but you can get 1440p or a little more at 30fps now, something most home console gamers can't even utilize because their TV is 1080p. So now you're at $1,130 to be on the cutting edge of console technology for one gen and that's not even counting the money that you could've saved with the better PC game sales. And you have full backwards compatibility with most games, which if you were on PS4 you'd have to rent the games individually or pay for a PS Now subscription just to be able to have access to PS3 titles on your PS4.

And even if $600 was your price point then you could buy a lower end system up front, be good at 1080p/60fps for a few years and then work down to lower settings or sub 1080p/60fps if you don't mind it, or you can spend what would've been the money spent on PS+ and more expensive games to upgrade your budget system and either way still be ahead of the consoles in terms of power, and have more functionality for the same price if not cheaper.
So I'm not seeing your point.

the same group of people having to buy 8 replacement units doesn't make the console more popular

I forgot PS3 never broke down

My dad still has his launch PS3. I shit you not literally everyone I knew with a 360 had at least one RROD.

Some PS3s did fault but 360 was notorious for this.

Sony makes great electronics, it's one thing they have always been great at.

The only reason I'd ever get the PS4 is because of Dark Cloud, G.T.A Vice City, Dying Light, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Shenmue on release.

The only games I'd take the time out to play.

Yakuza 0 is also pretty cool, and I really enjoyed No Man's Sky despite all the hate.

Gotta love how Xbox One fanboys now say graphics matter, after years of saying they didn't matter.

What nerds...

That is irrelevant, I was talking about the games that people in the racing community are playing RIGHT NOW... not the games that used to be popular way back in a bygone era.

You: LOL, Forza has taken overtaken GT as the most popular racing series in the world
Me: Got Proof?
You: Sales, look it up
Me: Provided GT sales. Waiting for you to shut me up with Forza sales

You have been retracting since then. Where in the conversation did you mention "RIGHT NOW"?

Anyway, we shall see what happens once GT: Sports comes out this year.
