Played the crap out of #1.

I found the best method for house gainz was a multi-couple duplex of sorts. 1 person stays at home to manage domestic affairs like cooking, cleaning, and establishing/maintaining friends.

The other 3 just work a bunch and train for whatever they need to. Shared living areas like the kitchen and entertainment center, but two separate bedrooms/baths

Only 1, 2, and one that was on the PS2.

1 has that charm to it to where I can go back and play it every now and again. I played the hell out of 1 way back when. I got every expansion pack whenever they came out. The music is also super memorable.

I still play 2 also. With mods of course. My god at all the different mods that are out there. I could never really get into that one I had on PS2. It's nowhere near the same playing without a mouse. I never got past 2. Just hearing about all the shady stuff EA was doing just turned me off from the series.

I think I'm going to boot up The Sims now.

I didn't play too many actual games of it, I just used it as a mansion creator for fun.

Also in my neighborhood I created a graveyard. I would constantly create new people to live in this blank plot of land (and also nabbed a few passing neighbors) and arrange them to stand in a certain spot until they died and created a tombstone. If you visited it at night you would see a bunch of ghosts.

I played the hell out of the first one on PC. Never cheated once, I always thought it would have killed the fun. My hard drive died after the second or third year in-game and I didn't have the heart to start again without my old characters. I still have that hard drive in a box somewhere. I still daydream sometimes about recovering the files and playing the old neighborhood again. HDD recovery is just way too expensive, but some day...

I played a bit of the second one but didn't like the fact that they aged and died. By the time you get attached they're dead. I haven't played any of the later games.

The Sims Castaway is great though. It's one of the better island survival games of that era.

I so did this too.

It was the world's only geaveyard with a swimming pool. But there were no ladders--only a diving board.

Yeah 1, 2, 3, The Urbz, Castaway, and probably some others I'm forgetting. great games.

you can get 4 only on Origin

I like 3 more if only because everything in the neighborhood is synchronized in real time while 4 went back to the single active lot style of 2 (but there's settings to make other sims age).
