North Korea has spent decades trying to develop nuclear weapons and now they're on the verge of having one. We ignored the problem for years while slapping them with ineffective sanctions. It's 2017 and they may have finally developed a nuclear weapon capable of taking out the entire city of Seoul and more.

I don't care if you're a Democrat or Republican, this is a problem for everyone. North Korea was always treated as a future problem, but it has become a current problem and a difficult one. The lack of action over the years may have given Kim Jong-un the window he needed to create the nuke.

IF North Korea does have a nuke, South Korea is f***** if the US don't do something. And if we allow them to keep progressing, they will eventually be able to develop an ICBM capable of reaching the US. Kim Jong-un is a true madman, capable of doing pretty much anything if given the chance to.

The US is on the verge of facing their biggest problem since the Vietnam War, and I think it's far more serious. This is a problem with no easy solution.

Seems like South Korea is fucked no matter what. Obviously taking the NK regime out before they develop sophisticated nukes will minimize casualties but millions will still die or be displaced. There's no real easy solution.

Of course ignoring the problem while the US fucked around in countries like Iraq that were no real threat to them or anyone didn't help matters.

In terms of solution, I wish I knew one. We can accept the fact that North Korea has nukes and South Korea and Japan start developing their own nuclear weapons as a deterrent in the next decade. But then we need to rely on the conduct of Japan, North Korea and South Korea to not do anything stupid, otherwise one of those countries will be flattened.

Maybe the US don't have to do anything, but if Japan or South Korea gets nuked in the future, I assure you this much, the US will be blamed for their inaction. If we launch a military strike, it's going to be a messy one. Millions of people will be affected, countless deaths and then there is the possibility of nuclear fallout.

If I were I charge, I'd say **** it and do nothing. One thing I know is that people value is their own survival, even a dictator like Kim Jong-un. They won't do anything is we don't do anything. But as a precaution, I'd have both Japan and South Korea start installing Ballistic Missile Defense System everywhere they can. Pray that it works If Kim Jong-un decides to push the button. After that, I doubt anyone will complain if the US nuke Kim Jong-un from existence.
