Completely anecdotal but I was helping the prosecutor's office with a case and had to interview some of the cops, and all 3 that I emailed to set up interviews responded with these emails completely riddled with typos and grammatical errors. Talking to them in person was fine and they seemed like perfectly nice individuals, but golly that surprised me.

Some people are just terrible at typing. I had a manager once who spoke intelligently enough but any time he had to email his bosses he'd have me proofread it first and fix all the errors
