A week ago I used the bathroom and discovered a little blood in the toilet. I freaked a little cause I didn't feel like I was in any pain. A little light headed while working and had a terrible cough upon which I couldn't take a full breath without some discomfort.

I came home that night and used the bathroom again to discover a lot more blood this time and even a small blood clot on the toilet paper.

Over the next several days my cough started to go away and I could breath normally again. I'm still coughing a little bit, but it's not as bad as when it started 2 weeks ago.

No blood since then. It's been a week since the last incident. Tonight I used the bathroom and discovered a little blood in my bowels. Not a lot this time, but still some.

See a Dr. I think there is even a company that will send you a sample collection kit if you are embarrassed. You do your business and ship it back to them.

I'm stubborn and don't have health insurance. After it didn't happen after the first time I thought nothing serious of it. Tonight kind of makes me worried though. I just got back a few weeks ago from traveling to ireland and before that I have participated in some clinical trials. I figured the first time maybe it was from the excessive coughing or stress from the long plane ride.

Even if you have no insurance, an emergency room can't turn you away. I'd recommend going, and just explain the situation.

It's most likely a hemorrhoid. I freaked out the first time one of mine bursted, because it was completely painless. I just sat up from the toilet seat and saw the whole dang bowl filled with blood.

Still, get check out by a doctor just to be safe.

I know, but I'm afraid of the bill and keep hoping maybe this will go away and I won't have to pay for the costs or deal with Bill collectors.

If the blood is dark red, that means it's been digested and you could have internal bleeding higher up in your intestines. Definitely go to a doctor, especially if you feel nauseous or light-headed. You actually can bleed out, and since you have very few nerves in your digestive tract, you likely won't feel it.

I have blood on the tissue and in the toilet pretty frequently. But I also have a terrible diet. Been happening for 20+ years. I'm probably fine.

Probably yeah, if you feel normal right now. But if you start feeling weak or your stomach gets weird, I'd say to go first thing tomorrow. You won't drop dead spontaneously or anything like that, but internal bleeding can be fatal if it continues too long without treatment. It's also possible for it to heal itself, but it's not something you want to really gamble with.

Alright, I'll make the appointment in the morning. My stomach does feel a little discomfort right now.
