posts like this miss that they aren't breaking up any existing, majority, or previously power-holding group, they didn't squeeze out a white co-president or anyone specific yet spoken of, nobody is being infringed upon by this apart from unrelated parties who read about it and chose to take offense instead of analyzing the intent

all they did was alter the operation of their private group to match the interest/benefit of their members
and that may potentially prove to be to their detriment in the end (especially considering any illogical blowback that attempts to shift the reality of their actions, as evidenced here), but it is neither racist nor segregation and has yet to show any basis in actualized hatred whatsoever, as opposed to simply being consideration for the black members actively involved

they have openly accepted and asked for assistance/support from outside parties elsewhere, it's perfectly reasonable to limit a meeting of interests to their core activists

no, I totally get this view, and it's why I denounced this as being an overall positive course of action from my initial reaponse and have continued to essentially postscript my own feeling on it

but I also think you can't bridge that divide when ignoring or, worse, intentionally misconstruing the feelings and ideas that drive things like this into being enacted to begin with, and if you delve (or even casually glance) into the group's comments since controversy then it certainly doesn't appear maliciously enacted, so the decision should be contested on the basis of benefit/detriment and not some false charge of 'attack on white people'

but I do agree that it was the initial statement as written that allows it to spiral out into this conversation as opposed to something more proactive, as it's just generally poor language and would serve them better to be handled individually with any actual locals

their contention would likely spawn here, and from the idea that the excluded were never considered part of the group to begin with, segregation as we most commonly view it was a full attack on the public, an all encompassing discrimination with no interior discrimination per individual, and this has been presented not as an attack on anyone but a fulfillment of interior interest



and, despite the groups own (poor imo) presentation, I believe this should be viewed from a community perspective, rather than racial, as there are certainly black locals at odds with their beliefs as well, but their ultimate effort here is to garner as many like-minded and similarly historied members as possible, which isn't the most productive feedback system but a basis that helps disenfranchised groups cultivate themselves in the earliest stages

The government has done their best to help them. With programs that helps them get out the street life and educational programs that helps them get into college. Yet they still complain that they're being oppressed.
