Putting together a new beater deck and trying to decide what to cut from my spells/traps before swapping out the monsters. Did someone say earlier that Riryoku isn't as competitive as it was? I don't understand why. Can someone explain?

Edit: Also, can someone remind me what Twister is useful for, since it can't negate?

Considering swapping out my black pendant for baou sword for its monster effect negation, but I'm not sure about the -1. Seems worth it to negate things like 4 star ladybug though. Could synergise with a fiend beater deck to summon necrofear.

Only if you have a deck built around it.

Gets harder the higher up you go in stages though, most likely.

Damn... I'm really torn right now. I kind of want to build a Beast deck with Bazoo the Soul Eater and Master Of Oz.. I kind of want to build a Fiend deck with Dark Necrofear and Summoned Skull. I kind of want to build a Gemini deck with Darkstorm Dragon and Superalloy Beast Raptinus. And now I see that Guardian Angel Joan was added to the Card Trader rotation, and that makes me want to keep improving my existing Fairy deck. I definitely won't have the sheer resources (either gems or coins/stones) to try and do all them, probably not even three of them. So I need to pick two to shoot for and stick with those.

Any ideas or recommendations? I need to decide soon, because there's a Bazoo in the Card Trader right now that I could get if I focus on the Beast deck.

I would only run one, unless I was making a deck that relies a lot on tributing monsters, which is generally a risky idea.

But it can be done, and possibly done well. Tributing an opponent's monster to raise your life points with Altar For Tribute is a fun trick. Tributing an opponent's monster for Enemy Controller's second effect to take control of one of their other monsters would be like the ultimate dick move in this game.

- The effect of Trap Reclamation only returns the trap back to your hand one time. To bring it back again, you'd need to activate a second Trap Reclamation when you activate Mirror Wall the second time.
- You can only activate Trap Reclamation at the exact moment you activate the Trap you want to bring back to your hand, not any time after the fact.
- If a spell/trap is chained to Trap Reclamation that immediately destroys Mirror Wall in the same chain (such as Twister or Wild Tornado) then Mirror Wall would hit the graveyard before Trap Reclamation's effect is active. In that case, Mirror Wall would not return and Trap Reclamation's effect is wasted.

So no, it's far from unstoppable.

It's every 6 levels at that point. I think they'll level up again at 39.

IIRC the annoying deck at that tier was A Legendary Ocean. I also remember 45 being less annoying than 39.

on may 23

switcheroo can be activated each time your lp decreases by 1000(nice!)


endless trap hell now can be activated if you have 3 traps in the graveyard add random one to hand and another returns to your deck ( once per duel)

precogniton lets you see top card on both player decks for the first 5 turns

reinforcements .lets you return a card from hand to add a random warrior from your deck (no longer have to skip draw for the turn)


those are some great buffs and they finnally nerfed switcheroo!

Not quite. You have to tribute a normal monster to activate its effect. Besides Monster Reborn is a banned card.

I have one in my deck but I am thinking about taking it out. It's a bit to situational. Either I don't pull it out before my opponent uses an annoying monster effect or his monster effects are weak and I don't want to waste it on them.

Max character level at the moment is 35. It used to be 30 but they raised it a few weeks ago.

I hope they continue to raise them or let us restart (like the Prestige system in CoD) because like more than half of my characters are at or close to level cap already.
