I can't see how 5th in conference and 8 losses gets you to a 1.

I think since Coach K only recently started using the one-and-dones, Duke fans literally don't understand yet that your performance all season actually is a factor. CBS is just stirring s*** because it's the easiest thing to talk about.

Also the "it's easier to get to the Final 4 than it is to win the ACC tournament" thing they literally made into a soundbyte probably isn't helping things.

Like I said, (a lot of) Duke fans literally don't get that seeding is much moreso a reward for performance and not a measure of raw talent. This team has very much not been like a historical Duke team.

That said, they're Duke and that'll probably still buy them the 2. Anyone else besides UNC in the ACC would be a 3 at best in this situation. (Ironically, Duke falling would have been interpreted as not that great of a win for anyone compared to normal, especially early.)
