Apparently so (or the Famicom, at any rate). I stumbled upon the cover art somewhere, and I really couldn't believe what I was seeing. Considering how violent this series is, just look at this:
 Jesus. And the first level boss? A resurrected Dracula doing Michael Jackson-esque dance moves. Crazy. BlogFAQs etc., but I thought some people would find this interesting. Oh yeah I forgot about that game. Wasn't it really kiddish or something? Or at least not like the horror beat em ups of the main series.
