Just played some more. I got to the part where the old lady randomly turned into a monster. And lo and behold, the game cheats and I died. I mash "A" a few times and then it swings its arms and I take damage. After I died I slammed the GameCube off and said "I'm done with this s***"

How are there so many ToS haters. Sure the story is a little... facepalm-y at times, but the battle system is a ton of fun and the dungeon designs are good enough for me.
