the crow town topic purged a little while back and, well, I didn't make a replacement topic because I didn't have any good news at the time. now I have some semi-good news although it may not be what you were expecting. since I kept extending the deadline for CROW TOWN over time I was caring less and less about finishing the game and my only motivation for continuing to make sprites (which is like one of the things I totally suck at and takes me forever) was to make other people happy, well,

to keep myself from going crazy I went back to this system I designed earlier this year and started programming an Alchemy simulator into it. I pretty much instantly fell in love with the simple idea that started out as a test project and I've somehow put about 30 hours of work into it just in the last week (despite being in summer school 4 days a week, I still found time to do this). I've pretty much been working on the game like crazy. what it has eventually evolved into is a full fledged slice of life alchemy shop simulation game.

anyway, I had a thought - since it's likely Crow Town would never be complete, my intention was to use some of the music submitted for this other game. I know it's not what you signed up for but I tested a few of the tracks in certain areas and I think they work.

anyway, if you DON'T want me to use your music in a different game other than Crow Town, please say so here and I will respect your wishes and not use the bgm that you created.

additionally, if you are interested in checking out a beta demo of the game (which I should be putting out within the next 7-14 days), let me know and I'll add you to my list to PM when the time comes. right now I'm prepping an alpha demo for three different select testers who are just checking things in the system, and that's going to be done either today or tomorrow. while you can't get onto this list, I will definitely be willing to add anyone who submitted music for Crow Town onto the priority list for the beta demo.

anyway, I hope to hear back from you guys (and if there's anyone who I forgot about just post here to jog my memory)

if you're curious I did complete the alpha demo and send it out. playtester #1 seems to think it's a lot of fun although he also said 'I may buy recettear' which I'm not sure to take as a good thing or not (if someone plays your game and that makes them go buy something else is that good?)

also there's a glitch in the alpha demo, when you open the shop there's about an 8% chance per customer to trigger a ridiculous chain of events that freezes the game

(it's a bit complicated but basically it tries to do something the script already did, the appearance of the customer in front of you suddenly changes, then they bump into the counter over and over again effectively locking the game up)

I found the source and fixed it pretty quickly though so no worries
