I did a bit of some very quick research on Amazon JP to check to see how much of a deal this is.
A Wii, currently on sale, is 18,500 Yen. A new game (I checked Super Mario Galaxy 2, since that holds in value) looks to be 5,800 Yen. A Classic Controller Pro is on sale for 1,800 Yen.
Right there, the bundle exceeds the value, and you also get the 1000 Yen Point Card and a USB stick (how big is it?)
So it's not an amazing deal, but it's still worth it, unless you wanna take risks and buy used on the console and the controller
Edit: Just saw Post #3. If that's so, then it's actually a really good deal.
It's because of DQX itself. Dragon Quest games are always the price of like two games in Japan because they know people will still buy them.
Even says right in the link that DQX itself is 8980 yen (roughly $112)
Yep. Dragon Quest IX was like 80 dollars when I bought it on Japanese launch day.
I think DQVI was the most expensive. It was like $150 when it launched on the SNES back in the day.
Japan doesn't have standard prices for games like we do here, so companies set the prices based on how successful they expect the game to be. Furthermore it gets complicated because game stores often set the price to whatever the hell you want, so it's not unusual to go into a store and find a game for +/- $5-10 dollars than it is at a comparable store

I wouldn't expect the Wii U version for at least a year. They're not going to give details on it so close to the Wii version launch. That would sabotage it. And in any case, they're going to wait until sales of the Wii version taper off before releasing it anyway.
I suspect its going to be at least two years before the US gets this game. I doubt we'll get the Wii version. And it takes them a year or so to release translations
