Bought it from GOG at the weekend. Only in Episode 2 at the moment, but I reckon I might have a decent guess at what's going on/what the big twist will be. Could be wrong though.

It's weird how, as soon as something actually happens, it stops being scary and is just an action game. Then when all the enemies go away and you're perfectly safe it's creepy as hell. Every distant silhouette that could be a person... every bit of movement out of the corner of your eye (real, imagined, or even a bit of graphical artifacting), the fact that you can't possibly watch all your surroundings at once... Love it.

Although there was one bit where someone definitely walked past a window then disappeared, which happens to match up to my strangest real-life phobia (I hate looking out, or even being near, a ground-floor window at night, because I always feel like someone might walk up to it at any moment). That was unpleasant.

So yeah. I recommend this game if you want an example of a superbly crafted atmosphere. And it's still half price on GOG until tomorrow!

I remember when this happened to me. Freaked me the hell out. Great game, the Taken can be disturbingly amusing at times.
