she loves gardening but hasn't been able to do it for years, so me and my bro got her a couple of plants and a tree so she can start one up again and she was quite thrilled about it

she went to the doctor recently and she was told that her cholesterol was high so she was put on a diet, and of course being a survivor, shes been pretty true to it

so me and my bro took her to an all you can eat

well

an "All you care to eat" Salad bar

and my god guys

all of the people there

I don't think they've ever seen hispanic people before

everybody

EVERYBODY turned to us when we came in.

Everybody kept staring at us as we got food

everybody kept whispering to eachother as they looked at us

jesus christ, we're not here to rob yall, gawd

even my mom noticed and innocently asked why

of course I just told her cause shes the best dressed person here and she bought it

but still man, I always get some looks from white people, but like, not ALL of them

its like we invaded their safe haven of a salad bar and they were shocked

Even the kids! I saw one looking at me, he tugged on his dad's shirt and pointed at me and said "Look!" and the guy said "Don't stare, son" like I had a deformity >_>

...AHEM

so yea, that was our experience at a salad bar. the food was quite good

anyways

but yea, my mom had a good time

EDIT: Only part of the 250 is my gift to her, by the way. Some is my brother and his wife who insists on giving her a gift too

I thought about getting her a peach tree but Deer are very prominent in this town, and they like using our backyard as a hangout spot, so catering to them would not be a good idea
