It seems that when we play as random, there is always one character that gets chosen twice in a row, my 2 friends and I just played 3 games in a row and someone got Mario everytime and it seems like stuff like this always happens
Having probably played more random than most, I'd say it evens out. Although I know there's some "qualifiers" or whatever for lack of better term that influences it sometimes, I just can't recall what they are.

From: Wedge110 | #006 I do. I tend to get the same rotation of 4-5 characters when I random.
I always random, this does tend to happen a fair bit, usually you'll gt a few 1s and a bunch of triples or quads

I'm still convinced that the randomizer algorithm used in Sakurai games just doesn't work very well. It's been like this for Kirby Air Ride and Kid Icarus Uprising too.
I don't see this happen, but what does always happen is if you set two or three random CPUs in a match, fairly frequently two of them will be the same character.
I wish Random worked like in 64 (forget if it's in Melee too) where it would show you which player+color your Random was, rather than not actually selecting it until the match starts.
