hahaha very true. and then we got dave and doris on friday night. i'd blame philly for not pulling its weight, but even in round 1 against denver, the lakeshow was getting marv and steve.

that comeback was fantastic. paul and griffin are free agents in 2013.

predicted that this series would go 6 btw. also picked the lakers to win it, so we'll have to see about some things.

I can see both of them ending up in Dallas then

yup

if he and wade play like this for the rest of the playoffs the heat will win a ring

but there's no way that's sustainable

but let's not take anything away from him

i'm not sure anything can take away from kobe's legacy at this point

the man has 5 rings; he can get swept shooting 32% for the rest of his career and it can't take away from what he's already done

Kobe's legacy is pretty jacked. it kind of precedes him - he was the rings but not the highlights or the games to back it up. 6-24 kind of says it all

Blake Griffin isn't going anywhere because he's restricted, meaning the Clippers can (and will) match any offer made. He's in LAC for another 3 years after his rookie deal expires, at least.

didn't he have 10 points in the 4th quarter of 6/24? the frontcourt + boston's injuries bailed him out but he did win it.

also made it to the finals as league MVP; 61 points in 3 quarters, 81 points, 4 consecutive 50 point games; playoff PER in 2001 = shaq's; all-defensive 9x (though this is BS)...

i mean, unfortunately for kobe, his absolute prime years were the years where his team was the worst, making it a little hard to judge everything properly. i don't think it ever all aligned for him like first threepeat jordan, but he's up there

sure, Kobe can get 10 in the fourth, but he's kind of the posterchild of hero ball. Kobe will take 10 shots in the fourth and get to the line another 4-5 times trying to be the hero. there's something admirable about that but at the same time you have to look at his percentages.

I wouldn't defend his 6/24 game. that's all I'm saying. he's the best there's ever been when he's in the zone and the best bad shot maker ever. but when you stop and think about his major successes, they've usually come in spite of him. I can only think of one true highlight: game 4, 2000 finals. he's had others of course (he's been in probably 30 huge games in his life) but few stand out like you'd expect from a hero shot maker like him.

If Blake is 8 feet in the air every play, yes. You need to keep Young and Williams for sure. Heck probably Foye too. You need one more inside pressense to help out DJ and Blake though.

Yeah, I can agree that the ankle injury is definitely affecting his shot. Doesn't change the fact that he's missing them, though. I really hope that Pietrus or Dooling steps up or something to fill that void at SG. Either that, or I hope Allen finds a "get healthy quick" potion somewhere.

^ I endorse the above post.

What I love about Rondo is that even though he's not the best shooter (though there are games where he gets hot), he creates so much offense that it doesn't even matter. On top of that, he's really good defensively.

SASHA PAVLOVIC!!!

what happened football?

rondo's great at D when he commits, but a lot of the time he gets seduced by the possibility of steals and gambles and fails to stay in front of his man. forces bad switches and then you see him ball-watching on no particular man.

and the help is Pierce/Allen who have like 1.5 legs between them, and KG doesn't rotate from the 4 anymore
